1004.4 vs 3054

Well since komatsu can eat a dick, I’ll try cat. Does anybody have a engine serial number for a 3054 that should get me the cat part numbers for my Perkins 1004.4? More specifically the thermostat gasket. My komatsu number dosent cross and there isn’t one in this country anyway. I’ll tear it apart tomorrow to see exactly what I’m dealing with, between the two engines I see at least three different gasket styles. I can get my 1004.4 serial number if there is a way to match my 1004.4 to a similar production year 3054.

Of course this all is for not if I’m wrong on a 1004.4 being the same as a 3054....

You want a Thermostat Gasket for a Perkins 1004.4?

Does it look like either of these options? Or can you even see the pictures?

Can’t see either one of this pictures Chris. Here is what it looks like.

From what I gather there are at least three maybe 4 different gasket styles.

One like I posted, a rectangular paper one with two separate holes, and cat uses a paper gasket with no center between the holes sort of like the rubber one I posted.

This should be my housing

And this should be the gasket I posted above.

Problem is I can’t get anybody to cross those numbers or find them in this country.

I've seen that somewhere on our Perkins engines. I'll dig.

You need the O-ring? Or a gasket style? Need the housing as well?

Is your engine a 3054, or a 3054 C, or 3054 D?

Can you take a picture of the front of the engine with your actual thermostat housing?

I'm digging.

It’s actually a 1004.4 I can get you the serial number. I was just hoping I could cross a cat number to a Perkins number. And yeah give me about an hour to get back to it.

And it is an or inch style.

Serial won't really help, but go ahead. Maybe I can find something.

I'm looking stuff up through Massey Ferguson...Used Perkins for about 50 years.

Really the best I can get right now. I haven’t torn it apart because I can still use it.

I'll bet that's a gasket. The housing that needs an o-ring is plastic.

I'm betting that is a $9.00 gasket, that I can get through Massey.

This picture shows a ring, but is actually a Gasket. I've had those apart before.

I’m gonna tear into it tonight and make sure it’s not. That’s what keeps throwing me off is it appears on komatsu site as it should be an oring.
