i need help with a decision

all right i have a 98 2500 4wd 12 valve automatic.. what i need help with is my trans any day now its going to take a major dump.. ok do i go for a rebuild new converter or an allison trans or a 6 speed trans cause i found both.. now the allison the guy wants thousand bucks nothing wrong with what do i need to make it work n my 98 parts an cost all that good stuff now the 6 speed just the trans thats it i have to find peddles an flywheel thats not really a big deal but will my transfer case work on the 6 speed an the allison.... any advice i love a manual trans specially since this going to b towing an some daily driving but more towing

Forget the Allison.

If you want a manual I'd find a 5-speed.

A stock rebuild of the 47RE with a good valve body and TC will probably hold up to whatever you want to throw at it and will be cheaper in the long run.

Better fix the automatic! The change over will be a real pain for sure.
