Dual thrust dual seal S400s coming soon...

After seeing a lot of focus from other companies put into stuffing larger and larger compressors into the S400 frame we decided to put some effort into longevity. We took something typically used in HX60s and other large frame turbochargers in the tractor pulling world and have implemented it into the S400 frame for the pickup guys. Not everybody is willing to spend HX60 money on a performance turbocharger. So we found a way to accommodate the more budget minded enthusiasts.

The main failures we see in S400s in a competition scenario and performance big trucks (cats in particular) is oil out of the compressor side and thrust issues. Our pulling truck liked fairly high drive pressure but the thrust started to become a concern. So we added a second thrust to support the back side of the collar. The next thing was addressing the oil on the compressor side. We added a second piston ring and made a new seal plate to accommodate this second seal.

We are still testing these additions but so far so good. 80+psi of boost and 120+psi of drive on the 2.5 turbo in our truck all season and it is still as good as new. We have an S410 based unit on a hot CAT with a new 101/92mm turbine wheel being tested as well with the above upgrades. Once we are comfortable to start offering these upgrades we will let everybody know. In the mean time I figured some of the tech types on here would appreciate seeing some of the things we are doing different from the next guy. These upgrades in our stock appearing S400 units for the workstock Cummins guys would probably make a great combo as well...

Thanks

Zach

I really like the sound of that S410. Any more details on it size wise?

The one being tested is just an 80mm billet 7 blade with the 101 turbine in a 1.45ar housing. We plan to up the compressor to a 83mm inducer and see how it handles it. Needed to start with a modest compressor to get a fair comparison to the 96x88 turbine.

Sounds like it could be a nice upgrade for us instead of going to a garret in our drag truck!
