Diesel nv4500 vs. gas nv4500

A friend of mine cracked his 4500 case. So he bought a gas nv4500 case to swap over. He found that the output shaft bearing size was different and wouldn't not accept the 1 3/8 spline shaft.

Anyone else ran into this situation ?

Depending on the year the gas 4500 came out of they can be similar. For example I have a nv4500 out of an 03 1500 that was bolted to a Hemi engine. Only difference was factory they came with a 1 1/8 input shaft, but my 1 3/8 fits just fine. Contact Mark Nixon and he will know what's compatible

Some good info here.

NV4500 Transmission | Advance Adapters

If I remember right the cases should all be the same except the early chevy ones w the lower first gear. Maybe have him pull the numbers and verify which trans he has.
