Transmission guru ?
So I picked up a 12v and dodge auto for my suburban and the o/d housing is different than the 48re's I have just wondering if I need something special when rebuilding it.
Thanks.

The RH's shift gears based off of junk in the OD housings, where as 47RE's and 48RE's use the gov solenoid in the VB.
I'm no expert, I just recently learned that via Will.

The 47RH will be easier for the swap, just have to control OD and LU.

Ok cool ! I haven't messed with that many autos so the longer housing had me wondering.

Just make sure your governor is in good shape if you use the 47rh overdrive housing.
