How far will this B1 take me?
Hey guys, first real post so here go's it...
as you can see in my sig I am waiting on my 370's, but once I get those in, where do you think my B1 can take me? right now I'm at 45psi so I'm fairly confident that I'm over 400hp just wondering what I can get too on this B1.
any ideas? cause I sure don't, I bought the B1 second hand used from a buddy, he said it was a big upgrade to the stock turbo, but how much I never researched it.
any input would be appreciated, thanks

b-1 is a big turbo, i would say with NOS it can take you 800hp+
650+ with #2 only
one guy dyno'd 832hp on NOS in a 24V with around 42psi of boost with a B-1
i am sure someone here can chime in and tell you more on the B-1

A b1 was a big turbo 5 years ago. These days it is still a good 400hp-450hp type of turbo.
If you want to make big power with a single I suggest looking at a K31, or S400.

Did it come from TAD in AZ?? You may look up Ken Diaz, since your in AZ. Bet he can help you out. TAD (turbo auto diesel) is the originator of the B-1 series, look him up.
I wouldnt wanna run an S400 as a single!!
Stick with the S300 variants. The B-1 is an S300 variant. If you need more flow, upgrade it to the steroid version.
If you want quicker spool, have it made into something similar to a B-1-2. There are quite a few guys here in NM running B-1-2's, making quite a bit of hp. One of them is around 500hp, and 2 more at 450.
They are tough turbos though, dont need to worry about breaking them to easily.

B! is big? How big? I think the current crop of 64/66s are bigger than even the steroid B1. Mine made 514 with a B1-2 and M4s.

well this thing spools hella fast now, so fast I was thinking of using it as the secondary in a twin setup, that is after I get studs, fire ring, and a clutch to hold the power, which means a long time from now, but....I just didnt want to maxout the B1 like I did the stock HX and blow something.
do you think I should install a pressure gauge in the exhaust manifold to monitor TIP?
the reason I ask is because 4K rpm is higher than most take it to, most guys are on the 3K GSK and don't know what the higher rpms do to the EGT's and drive pressure.
thanks for your responses, and yes, right now my injectors are at TAD so I'll ask them about my turbo

yes, the 64's and 66's are larger than even a steroid. A steroid is an odd size compressor, 63mm IIRC.
I would say if it spools hella fast, your running a B-1-2 or even a KSB-1. The full B-1's and steroids dont spool hella fast, IMO. But spool is a very subjective matter also.
I wouldnt worry about blowing it like your HX35. 3 of the guys I know with B-1-2's are running 4K's as well, making 46-48psi with them, no probs yet. They are pretty stout tubos. Good for nitrous. :-)
If you do have a KSB-1, it would be a good match to a B-2 primary. that combo works well..
