turbo guard help

well i installed the turbo guard as per instructions but it doesnt work. when i manually open and close the throttle i can see the light on the control box flash on and of but the solenoid doesnt open or shut. when i unplug the output wire, the wire that goes to the solenoid, then the control box light will come on when i close the throttle and go of as soon as the throttle is opened, in other words the control box behaves light i think it should when the power wire going to the solenoid is removed.

Any help greatly appreciated, when i plug the power wire from the solenoid into a 12v source then it will open and close, so i dont think the solenoid is bad.
