1995 3500 12V 47RH or RE? Converter Issue

Couple questions:

Bought a 1995 3500 DRW 4x4. I know nothing about autos. Does this truck have a 47RH or RE?

Issue: While driving down the road the converter will lock and unlock. Now, you can hammer down on it and the converter will lock and stay locked. No transmission slippage at all. What could potentially be the issue? Thanks!

47RH...I would bet the TPS is out of adjustment or going south on you. It would be the electronic component bolted to the side of the injection pump.

I have never owned a 12v/47RH combo, but that is the most likely issue.

Yes on what stock600 said.
But before you do anything, drive it with your tow behind the brake pedal pulling up. I've had two trucks that the issue was flickering the brake lights driving down the road, causes the conv to unlock every time.

There was an issue with the PCM on the '94-'95 47RH trucks back in the day.
It was bad enough to trigger a recall, IIRC.

Mark.

I just put a lock switch in my old 94, along with a unlock switch. Never found the issue on that one, it would come and go. Drove without a trailer just fine, the toggle switches when I towed.
