Vernier height gauges.

Picked up several old school ones in the wooden boxes today. Starrett, and Brown & Sharpe. Couple of 24" and a 36".

Nice! Seems like the days of actually using them are all but gone. They were the first layout tools I learned to use, don't even know where one is at now.

Most shops have switched over to digital.
I would like to see someone just learning, to read a old vernier caliper.

2 Starrett, 2 Brown & Sharp. Starrett inside mic set as well. A little rust on the i.d. set, but should clean up nicely.

That's pretty cool Ron. Nice find. What are you measuring with tools that large?

I learned how to measure and do layouts with vernier tools. It makes everything else come easier once you understand how to use one of these.

I used one of the ID sets today. A bit of oil and some steel wool on the rust and they worked like a charm.
