There were 3406Es that were 6NZ motors. If I'm not mistaken the 6NZs were just a part of the serial number on a batch of some of bad@ss motors.

There's lots of 1lw's out there too and a couple other serial #'s as well. The 6nz was the first c-15 before they switched to the mbn bridge in mid 03, the 6nz is still 14.6 liter, the same as a 3406e but they call it a c-15.

To JFaulkner: Let me just say that the 2013 W900 with the 550 ISX with a certain file created by the Cummins MidSouth Marine Division is more impressive than I thought it should be. It's way stronger than the 600 ever thought about being. The most impressive engine I ever tied in front of an 18spd. and 3.73's! And I haven't even done any deletes YET, I'm already tired of DEF! This is my fathers work truck. 1994 Freightliner FLD -120 with a 3406C with an Eaton 13 speed.

The 2nd truck is a 1988 Kenworth W900 with a little 3406B, 9 speed. That's my fathers play trick!

I would love to see some video of this thing once you get it deleted. I'm also curious as to how you're running a tune on it without deleting. I was under the impression it had to be deleted before you could do anything like that.

Well that's good to hear. I found a 2011 W900L with a C15 I might go look at so I'm not ready to buy a red boat anchor just yet.

I believe that's probably still a stock Cummins file (just for a different application) so the DPF can stay. Even companies like PDI or BullyDog can write you a better than stock file and leave the DPF/SCR stuff in place if you don't want to spend the cash right away. However IMO the only way to fix a DPF motor is to use a hammer and a box!
