06 block used in 24v

So I just picked up a short block from an 06 CR that was just freshen. I was gonna swap it into my 24v. I realized tonite that the crank gears are different, the timing cover mounting holes are different, and a few other minor things.:nail:
I was wondering if anyone has done this, can I just change the crank gear and fab the timing cover and that would work?

Yes, it can be done.
It's more of a PITA than just finding a nice VP block and building it, although there is a timing case to P pump it, but at nearly $2k for the case, it hardly seems worth it.

Im not really wortied so much about the oil pan and timing cover. This crank gear is a m effer.
