Have to go back and check but believe the M rated is good to 9.99.

10-4, thanks for the clarification.

Surprises me that M helmets are accepted at all with the NHRA...

I'm with Big Blue on the 11.49 rule. I want to run the class, but there is no way I will be able to get a bar in before the season starts. I feel I can be competitive running 11.50 and to show support for the class until I can get the bar in the truck.

If I run to fast for my safety equipment then I can be DQ'd. Many classes have been won by trucks not running near the dial.

I am in the same boat, Still working on buttoning up other things on the truck and not sure I can get a roll bar done before April.

I have a roll cage and will have no issues complying with the 11.49 certified rules, I just want there to be more than 3-4 Super Street sandbaggers. I also noticed that Super Street does not require 11.49 certification and surely Super Street is a faster class running 9's vs. the much slower 10.90 index. I think it's a great rule when trying to limit the crowd but it will hurt the class at first. This is probably why Super Street does not have an 11.49 certification rule even though we know an 11.50 truck is not competitive in Super Street. Furthermore, I understand the 11.49 rule for Pro Street, don't want those top competitors having to make pointless half power passes to knock out the 11.50+ riff raff that would enter in hopes of the bigger guys breaking and getting in on an easy purse.

But like I already stated, my truck is properly equipped so I personally don't care, just made an innocent suggestion.

A few years back when the 11.49 certification was needed for SS I called my local nhra inspector and asked if I could get my roll bar certified to 10.0. He was very confused and said that no such certification exists, no sticker could be provided for the roll bar. he said certs do not start until 9.99. so unless this has changed then it is strictly up to the techs on race day to determine whether or not you will be allowed to run. if it were me I would just sign up for the class and hope the techs let you by. as long as you don't run under your what you are allowed safety wise I don't see the track caring at all.

I'm not aware of an actual certification for roll bars to 10.0. There are some regulations on side bar height, size of the tubing used and secured to the truck frame etc, but I don't think there is an actual certification for it.

Guess I missed that. There is no 11.49 cert per say however 11.49 to 10.00 ET's require a roll bar 6 point minimum.

Chris what gives you haven't posted on here since 2011 now all of a sudden you come out of the wood work and start taking shots at NHRDA, thought that tiff was over years ago.
What gives or are you just going to sit on the sideline and take cheap shots?

Well I sure there are two sides to every used story but I'm not privy to any of it so unless you feel it is totally important to air your grievance here in this thread why don't you contact NHRDA direct as you really have nothing constructive to add to the current discussion that I can see.

Runninlean...where are all the trucks that were waiting for a 10 second index class, they sure were not in Bakersfield and pretty pathetic turnout in Ennis as well. 7 trucks and only 5 made a pass first round three of those singles. Thought there were lots in the south especially Texas who wanted it????
