HPTuners on 03-05s

Just ordered HP Tuners for my 04, I am looking for some info on how to get started. I know once I get my hardware I'll need to email them to get the beta software for Cummins but I have never used HPtuners before. Just wanted to see if anyone had any helpful links, advice, or videos on tuning these trucks or even basic procedures for the software.

I am not looking for what parameters to set, just basically how to navigate the software.

Any help is appreciated, Bodie

I started watching one that was for turbo LS cars which would be fine, at least I can get familiar with things. It was like an hour and a half long, and the guy has a LS swapped Porsche, I need to finish it. I was just hoping for something aimed toward diesel. Lavon is the only one I've seen advertising for it.

This is the one I came across.

For those interested here's the info I found in my research that I saved and have been referencing a lot thus far.

I'm personally not writing tunes for my vehicle but I like to learn the theories & better understand the software.

Hopefully this stuff will help a few out!

It comes with Licenses when you buy the hardware.

Right,

But when you email tunes back and forth with your buddies, tweaking tables and such and trying different parameters, you'd be spending credits on a tune that isn't for your truck.

I believe you can. When it asks you to license, decline, and then you can open the file and make changes.

That's the way I understand it too. Also remember the stock file that is provided to you is not the file from the truck. Hp tuners uses a database for stock files so that you get a clean file to start tuning with.

Did you get the software yet? Care to share the software I cant seem to find anything. I just want to look at it and see if its worth spending money on or not.

I'm pretty sure if you send a file to your buddy you have to use credits to modify it, or you can look at it for free but not modify it?

I also thought you scan your truck to get a base file and work off that?

Anyone care to comment on my maps? Early 04 with a 66 and stock injectors.
