blower not changing positions

My 04.5 today started not wanting to change blower settings( foot, face,or any settings) No matter what the position is on it only blows to the windshield and a little air is coming out on the floor. the not and cold knob works and the fresh/recirculate door works. any ideas? Rob It did change a few times but took a long time to change.

Could be the blend door, either way you have to remove the dash or at least set it back in the seat. It sounds like a tough job, but its actually very easy.

I am going to pull the blower motor today to see if I can see the broken blend door. I had the middle section out in the past couple weeks to install more gauges and I am hoping the plug on the back of the selector is loose. Rob

If you pulled the blower motor and looked up to see the door then you are seeing the Recirculation door, which has nothing to do with which vents the air comes out of.

The blend door's job is to blend hot and cold air when you turn the temp knob. The Mode door and Defrost door control where the air comes out. Most likely its your mode door.

All of the HVAC doors on 3rd gens are electronically controlled not vacuum.

do the 3rd gens ghave a vacuum pump on the motor? check all lines to make sure a fitting didn't pop off while you were working under the hood.
