I plan on hosting a BBQ at my house after the race (it's also my birthday party). I live about 30 miles north of the track (just south of Portland). If you are interested in attending, please PM me for info.
Regards,
Michael Pliska

Yeah Hoss, Nathan is doing a Jellystone trip with his family and Rob is doing a float trip with his, so I the lone ranger on this one. I promised Rob I wouldn't do any more 50+psi boosted launches. I take you up on your offer if I need anything. Thanks...See you there. Ken

Just bumping this thread since the race is tomorrow! I know there was a bit of carnage at last week's Spokane race, hopefully everyone got everything fixed in time (Malcolm???). I really need to pull the trans from my truck (front seal leaks if the pump temp gets above 190°F), but it will wait for another weekend.
Regards,
Michael Pliska

Leaving Seattle in about an hour , heard it is traffic all the way down. Might be a good time to teach Pat how to drive the truck.

Ugh, I just had a flashback to my years in college driving class 8 trucks, getting stuck in traffic with a clutch pedal that was about like leg pressing 600 lbs... Although one of the trucks I drove had a 4x4 transmission (two 4-speed boxes in series) which would allow a compound low that could just creep along. Have a safe drive!

Nah, PIR Wednesday night, with a measured 114°F (in the shade near the staging lanes) was a "little warm"... Tomorrow's 92° forecast will be a walk in the park!
Did anyone else notice the fad of flat black helmets a couple of years ago? What were they thinking???

Subman wins NHRDA Pro Street
Ken won the Pro Street class at the Thunder Truck weekend.
He piloted Max'd Out running 10.3's at 135+MPH all day.
He said the truck ran flawlessly in the high heat.
Congrats Ken!

Yes it was a blast. That truck is flat fun to drive. Long ass day, about half a dozen oil downs with the gassers and big trucks running. The last run the fuel cell was too hot to touch. I ran Bill from Source Auto in the final, told him I'd give him a 2 second head start just to make it a better race. His reaction time on he .4 pro tree was .738 and mine was 2.677 so pretty close to 2 sec/ My 60' was 1.811 on soft launch and I still ran a 10.355 and 137.93. Bill spun bad on the line with a 2.4 60' and it didn't take me to long to catch him. Ran it in level three on the current setup or the 10.3 turn. Ran level 4 on the last run and got the the mph, but 60' wasn't good enough to get me where that tune took Rob last weekend in Spokane.
Just to let you and Nathan know Rob, my pass was faster than your record pass in Spokane last weekend. I37.18 for you and 137.93 for me. It also the fastest that truck has been on DOT tires. Track much lower in Woodburn, but it was much hotter. DA was probably 1500-1800 ft higher in Spokane. I get to brag about that for a month anyway, at least till Rob or Nathan get it back out on the track.

I believe it's all that hot air you carry around. Makes the truck lighter and faster
Congrats buddy, appears the truck likes you! Now don't go getting any crazy ideas, get your truck done so I can drive again...

Congrats Ken!!!
Here's a quick summary I wrote on another forum:
The race was the smallest I have ever seen it (and I've probably been to that race about 8 times over the years), both in terms of truck turnout and spectators. Don't get me wrong, there were still a lot of trucks and people, but it just wasn't as huge as it usually is. I suppose the economy and the heat wave could have something to do with it.
Pro-Street was won by Ken Florey (Max'd Out) over Bill Allen (Source Automotive). It would have been a great race if Bill were driving the normal Source 2005 CR Dodge, but it recently wounded a motor so he was running the 2WD 12V truck. Ken agreed to give Bill a head start (waited on the starting line after the green) then see if he could chase him down. He did, running something like a 10.32 @ 138 mph.
Super-Street was won by Mike Fox over Jerry Mullins. Mike also ran Sportsman ET and the gasser Hot Trucks class, so every time I turned around he was making another pass down the track. He probably put 20 miles on his truck at the track!
Sportsman ET was won by Jerry Mullins over Jim Calhoun. That makes it two in a row for Jerry, the points race is getting interesting! My chances of defending my division championship are looking pretty slim now, as I lost in the first round to Pat Kyle in his hot rod Kenworth. I put down a 0.073 total package (reaction time plus amount off my dial), which is normally enough to win just about any round, but Pat put down a 0.042 package and sent me home early.
Several regulars were still fixing damage from last week's race in Spokane.
Regards,
Michael Pliska

Wow, Jerry is a force. Too bad he hasn't made all the races, looks tough to beat. Hopefully he can make the rest and run for the championship.
