Alright guys I need a little help brainstorming right now. I bought a new business called the Mosquito Squad. Ive 3 F-150's in the company right now, and Im going to turn my tacoma into one as well.

Anyways, You have to carry a 100 gallon tank in the bed of the truck for the mix you spray in peoples yards.

My question is that the way that they are mounted is by using 4 eye bolts through the bed and 2 ratchet straps going over the tank. I was wanting to build some sort of cage to set these things in because they slide when full in the back of the truck side to side.

I will try to get a picture of the current set up soon but I was thinking of maybe bending some tube steel or something? Maybe cutting a hole in the bed and bolting to the frame or something. Anyone had any experience doing something like this?

Main reason is that they still slide side to side and I feel like a redneck with ratchet straps holding down my tank.

Build a cage for it to set into, not that hard there slim.

How are you gonna turn the Tacoma into an F150? Will you post pics of that?

Square or round tank?

personally 100 gal tank should be secured to truck frame, not just to the sheet metal of the box. if things get squirrely that baby will come forward and hit you in the back of the head. 2, 2" straps if their anchor points are solid on the frame and that tank should not move. i have seen 1 guy who used old tractor weights for ballast, and what he did was build a floor out of 2x6 lumber with recesses for the weights. kept them placed exactly where he wanted them with no flopping around. solid 2x6 around the tank, with straps and she won't go anywhere.

I would also suggest a baffled tank. I will reduce the weight from the chemicals from shifting your tank around. Baffled tanks are a bit more expensive but well worth it.

Just put in blocks to keep them from sliding and rachet strap them, that's all we do for 2500 and 1500 gallon tanks in our semi trailer we use for spraying.

Install a gooseneck ball up through the bed. Build a cage that has a loop in the middle underneath that sets right over the ball. It will keep it from moving any direction. On the weekends, you can pull the tank and tow your new 5th wheel camper trailer with your Tacoma F150.

Hey! Dont be talking sh!t about the tacoma! :hehe:

I am now going to google teardrop gooseneck camper LOL

I used a flexible bladder in my business to carry salt water, it held 250 gallons, its made for pickups, when filled its locked against bed and wheel wheels, had no problems, had drain and large fill neck, was like 15 mil

So I finally closed on this business, currently am sitting in a training class fml

Thought I would post some pics.

Got my taco wrapped!

Here is one of the F-150's that I got as well. All the trucks are going to be getting camper shells and additional artwork.

All of my trucks are getting camper shells to and then im going to add additional graphics. Definetely going to paint the wheels of the tacoma to lmao

Why not build a tray out of angle iron? Bolt it to the frame or cross member of the truck and then strap the tank to that. Build it the same size as the tank base so it doesn't slide. Why ratchet straps? Do the tanks come out often? If not use metal strapping (kinda like gas tank strapping) that way you don't have to worry about it.

Or just buy something like this:

Cradle and Bands

I really want something like this. I just measured the back of the tacoma and I only have 42" in width in that thing. This tank is 64" in width. Any other ideas??
