My new project : save the 99

AsTroSS

problems start @80 psi
I just want to show my next project.

The truck is 1999 Quad Cab, originally with 24 V Cummins and automatic.

I brought the truck for spare parts (this was my first idea): its missing all font end panels, engine ,radiator , front seats and some dash parts.

After inspecting , I decided its better to : save the 99
I have almost all missing parts allready in my warehouse, 98 12V engine, wiring ........

So lets see how much it take to get it running.

looks like alot of room on that trailer!

:lolly:

This was the biggest trailer available, I have to swap original wide 16.5 wheels/tires to my spare set to fit it to triler (I had 1/2 inch extra room bouth sides)

My traget is fix it to running condition as less money as possible, so far it have cost to me : $2800

update

I got good hood and left fender, but right fender lower part is corroded , I paid for all 400€-> $575

Unfortunatley I found the frame front part is bent :soap:, 1 inch to driver side.

No problem I allready send the truck to my friend place who haev small bodyshop and he do frame strenghtenin job daily basis....

I also have in horisont 98 1500 with 2wd with club cab for parts , lets hope the owner can sell it with good price

good luck with it. your parts are expensive. i just bought a 98 swd reg cag 2wd gas truck for 400us. the moter is shot.

it really shouldnt be to high depending on what else is missing and what the trans situations is

update:

The ugly 16.5 wheels (on the pictures) are sold and new set of Mickey Thompseon Classic II 17 inch wheels and 35 '' BG Goorich tires waiting the tuck to gome back with sraight frame.

The BF Goodrich tires I brought from UK, they are slightly used H2 originals.

My idea to keep project cost as low as possible is just wet dream now  , the more I think the more expencive it will be.

With this truck I can do now all my wild dreams

Together with home-made-mega-cab swap ,similar like on the picture
IMAG0084.jpg

might be good idea to replace the dash with 3rg Gen (for me it will free of charge, because I have it in my CR parts truck)

Visually the Sport front end and OEM style fender flares the Duraflex SRT-10 hood will look super :woohoo:

Maybe also the short bed together with SnugTop bed cover similar like on the picture (If I only can find and afford it)

..... and the sunroof :lolly:

The paint/color sheme is also figured : it will be 2 tone, the lower part will remain silver and the grill/hood and doors from window level and up will be black.

I still have not decided to go with stock pistons or use spare block with oversize 'mexican hat' pistons, those will give more injectior options.

The pump I have for this engine is stock from 180 hp engine with 4kgsk and some AFC-mods, injectors need to buy (depens what type of pistons i will use)

Turbos will be new HE351VGT (thanks to ebay , I made super deal) together with 75mm Holset HX60 , currently it have 32 cm housing , but I hope to find bit smaller

Power target healty 500 Hp.

The good converter and input shaft is on the 'need to find/buy list'
