Team Thailand at the NHRDA World Finals

Team Thailand comes to the USA to attend the NHRDA World Finals

Well we have to admit that is seemed like a long shot that team Thailand would rebuild the entire chasis to meet NHRA chassis specs and then get the truck shipped over in time for our World Finals.

Bryant Blakemore called me on Monday and said he received the truck and was taking it on Tuesday to get the chassis NHRA certified I realized that this story is coming to life and it is for real.

Here is the story -
Team Thailand did not qualify for the World Finals so they can not compete for title of NHRDA Pro Stock World Champion.

So they are going to make some NHRA licensing passes on both Friday and Saturday and if they get their temporary NHRA license on Saturday and when we are done with the World Finals in Pro Stock we are going to ask the new World Champion if he would do a grudge match race that would have Team Thailand versus NHRDA World Champion.

I think completing that truck in the time period they did should automatically qualify them. Not to mention what all it took to get them here.

Indeed. 'World Finals'. It would say a lot about a sanctioning body if they found a way to include an international competitor. It isn't like they just hooked the trailer up from Cali and drove over.

I'm all for it. BUT as a sanctioning body, if you change the rules mid-season, you will have people from now on throwing it back in your face. I think NHRDA is doing the right thing by letting them run, and maybe even grudge race. Hopefully next year they will be IN the world finals!

They're not even "compeditive". Let em run.

Exackary. :hehe: Nice play. LOL

Being I'm a complete nobody when it comes to racing and my opinion isn't worth $.02; I completely agree.

Since there are no NHRDA events where they are from, they should be allowed in! This goes for anywhere NHRDA does not hold events! Kinda pointless to be the "World" Finals and only let in people from the US and Canada!

Just my two dull worthless pennies

I kind of agree with this. I'm sure it'd be very difficult to make it over here twice in a year so how would they even qualify next year? Unless you start an NHRDA race in Thailand. :D

The airport in OKC, Oklahoma is called Will Rogers World Airport....we have no international flights...not even Canada. The term "world" is advertising jargon. Nothing more.

I think its great as well that they are letting them show up and do their license passes and maybe grudge matches.

But i agree that NHRDA cant change their rules at the end of the season. This will need to be brought up before the next season and discussed then. Cant be changing rules for the last race fo the year
