Rudys Spring Truck Jam March 15th 2014

Yes, you forgot to post the dates of your event? No one is saying the drunk kids are not a problem! Every year we step it up and it still happens. The only thing you read about is negative on the events. I want to attend your event and see that there is no one drunk, acting up or otherwise doing anything wrong. I don't care what size it is or who backs it. I'm just glad your putting it on.

If you read my post the track is not in yet so we dont have dates yet still waiting on county approval . And only one of our local events allow alcohol and they always have problems.

My point is why allow the alcohol, why is it needed ? I'm surprised no one has been killed during some of these events. What if someone's child is run over by one of these drunk kids. Is that what its gonna take to stop the alcohol at these events?

I'm only sure Lee and Aaron are taking in all the constructed criticism and they will be making changes. For a relatively new event, they themselves probably didn't think it would grow so fast in popularity and attendance the way it has. I wouldn't want to deal with that large of a burden.

People are going to have fun and you are going to have the drunken idiots when you get large groups of people in one spot.. The only thing you can do is moderate it the best you can. You can ban alcohol all together and people are still going to find a way to get it in.

I have a drag truck now what the diff from my drag truck to ur pulling truck been thinking bout building one but I don't wanna spend 25k like I did on my 06 so should I buy a 98-02 they cheaper???

I think you posted in the wrong thread sir.

The key is having plenty of security to keep the troublemakers under control. The problem here was Rudy's event doubled in size on him from October until now, the same thing happened to us in 09. We now hire the entire Franklin police dept. They are obviously doing something the spectators and participants like , the doubling of the event size proves it. I'm sure they will address the growing pains just like us, Scheid, etc have had to do over the years. Sorry we couldn't make it to this one. We are still in Arizona. We wil be at the next one for sure:clap:

I can only speak for myself but this is why I stay away from these large diesel only events. After ts in 09 and literally having to beat 2 drunks fighting off the side of my puller with a 1 1/4 wrench to sdx the same year and the out of control ATV issues slinging rocks and gravels all down the side and back of my truck. I value my stuff way to much to let people damage it and this is why I will continue to stay away till there is a handle on all of it. I'm not saying these aren't great events and the promoters work there butts off to make these events what they are but its not worth the chance for damage for me. Just for reference my family puts on the pull here in Winchester and we see around 4-5000 people every year and there maybe 1 issues the whole night. If someone is out of hand they are cuffed and stuffed. End of story. This event has gone on for over 30 yrs

You should reconsider now that PPL is involved- also the venue in Franklin is much better than the old one in BG.

Yes I agree, I mean if your out looking for it you can see the drunks, but if you stay on the pit side, you really don't see too much.

Well I certainly was not expecting the crowd that we had at this past event. I am still amazed at the amount of people that came out to support the event. I would like to thank everyone who helped, everyone who came, and everyone who sponsored. There are too many people to name, and I cannot thank you enough. That being said, I realize we had a few issues and I promise we will address them. I honestly was just not expecting 6300 people to be there. We will take measures in the future to ensure the safety of everyone there as well as other issues that need to be addressed such as parking, bathrooms, and seating. We are looking forward to the next event in the Fall and will keep everyone posted with details. Thanks again for making these events what they are and what they will continue to be.

I do appreciate all of your guys comments about this most recent event. The majority of the problems that we had stemmed from the fact that we were simply not prepared for that amount of people to show up. If I had known or even thought it was a possibility, I would have taken steps to ensure that we did not have nearly the issues we had at this past event. Your never going to eliminate all of the idiots, but we could have been prepared to handle them. Knowing what we know now, we will do a better job in the future.
That being said, I hope you guys do not think we do this for the money. The event last fall we lost over 10K just putting the event on. We do this because we love the sport and we want to see it grow. We want all of the premier trucks at one event and let the spectators enjoy them. It takes both spectators and competitors to make an event great, just need to separate them and have some organization. My number one goal for putting these events on is so everyone has a good time and enjoys themselves. If I am not accomplishing that for the majority of people there, especially the competitors, I might as well quit. I am not happy about some of the things that went on but all I can do now is work to improve everything for you guys. I hope you guys understand and will continue to support these types of events across the country. Thanks -Aaron

Much respect Sir! Thanx Aaron, c-ya in the fall!!

I had a great time and was stoked to see and meet a bunch of people! As everyone said tho is was a cluster **** and a lot of complete drunk idiots... Had 1 "kid" in a OBS 7.3 Ford with dual stacks laying into his pedal rolling coal like no tomorrow. I simply walked up to him and askin him to stop and about that time all his buddy's decided to surround me and act like they were about to fight me... I just :lolly:

All and all it was a great turn out just needs a lot more room now and a lot more organization!

Good pics and good times for me came tho

Tlyons I saw you make most of your runs. That's one pretty quick dmax. And looks dang good too

Yeah I know lmm's are pretty quick stock. Sad thing is my neighbor has a '04 f250 Harley with 190 over injectors and a stage 3 powemax turbo, custom tunes and a built trans from Rudy's and some more stuff. And he's only runnin like 8.6's around 75mph. He was rollin on some slick 37" mud grapplers last time he ran though

I'm gonna bring this back to the top because I'm still really confused on why alcohol even aloud at this event ? Or any diesel event. We have plenty of pulls in our area MD,pa one of them very larger 5k plus people every time and none allow alcohol and do every well.
