NHRDA kicks off The 2014 season at Famoso Raceway

I thought it was a very well run event with a great turnout. When I finally got there after 3 there were folks leaving but the lot was still packed outside the gate.
I didn't see anyone being stupid at the track, on the roads or at the hotels.
The track looked good, the racing I saw was good, the pulls looked to go smoothly...very well run from my perspective.
Props to NHRDA for a good event.

Jusf got back home after a 14 hour drive. It was really a well run and good event. The track crew was tops, only a very small delay with some tranny fluid on the starting line and some extra water when the Triple Threat Nova jumped a bit on the starting line and spilled the ice from the trunk ice chest inner cooler but other than that, was very smooth. A lot of sportman and Super Diesel, not many of the other classes. A number of folks didn't get their trucks ready in time. And other have a lot of bugs to work out. Weather was perfect, track prep was super and the 9 Promods were awesome. 5.69 at 250+ for the quickest one. H&S Prostreet truck ran a 9.20 but had the transmission fluid problem on the line for the final giving it to Dirty Max. Wade Minter ran a 9.37 to take Super Diesel, would have been a new record but he did it on the final so couldn't back it up. Really hope we can hold the race there next year and also have the promods as well. It really was a good show. Thanks to Randy and the entire NHRDA crew. Well Done.

Excuse his ignorance. He's getting his classes mixed up lol.

H&S basically rolled the start and ended with a 9.20. In their bye run they has a trans issue/leak so didn't get to break the beams. So that put them out. Leaving Jarid Vollmer from Bullydog to take it home. He was on an all new set up as well and had some bugs. Had a decent run at the end. Would have been real well if it didn't hang a shift out for a full 1/8th mile LOL.

Ryan Milliken ran 9.80's all day while blowing boots around 1000 foot. That got him to the finals against the Tripplemax truck who flat out got down! 9.3? for the win. Ryan only managed a mid 10 from some start line spinning.

Good event. I guess Banks testing wasn't showing the times they thought and they tucked tail and stayed home. LOL

And than you ate 5 hamburgers.LOL

Hat's off to the NHDRA for a great event. It was good to see a lot of old friends (Ken, Tom,Mike,Guy,Johnny,Chris,Betty,+,+,+, etc) and meet many new ones. We got knocked out in the 3rd round of SM, and had to skip the sledpull, but still had a blast. Good times.

Sadly Banks didn't make it. They always put on a good show, and some of the nicest folk you'll ever meet at any race event. No, I'm not sponsored by Banks. I just think they make an event more fun.

Let's get honest. If you were at the event, would you want to see the Banks diesel run?

In any case, the more entries the better.

Hat's off to all who showed to make it a great event.

OK, you can ban me again! :D

Tom? How did you run? We had some issues with Wendy, and couldn't pull.

EDIT - Honestly I was injured worse than Wendy, and Kat didn't want me hurt worse. Love you Kat, I was in a lot of pain, but didn't want to ruin your day.

We are going to have another Diesel Retards bash at our house in July. Look at our site (duramaxdiesels dot com) for updates. Always a good time.

I didn't see your mutton chops anywhere....must have been gone by the time I got there.

I'm not gonna waste my time banning you again....you'll just come back anyway....at least now I know where you are. LOL

Wasn't ignorance it was 14 hours of driving and three Gibson's when I got home. :D Yes the H&S truck was Prostreet and probably would have won the class if it didn't develop the tranny leak. Bully truck had a bad TC but was able to make the final. Wade Minter was Super Street with a 9.37 in his final pass. Would have been a new record for ET in that class but no chance to back it up. Ryan DuBois from Big Twin in Boise won Super Diesel and Jim Calhoun who just had a lung transplant won Sportman with a perfect dial in the finals. We heard Banks hurt their motor on the dyno but I don't think anyone knows for sure what happened.

I just dropped by to say HI. :kick:

We took off at about 4:30 pm. I was hurt and so was Wendy and we had 200 miles to get home.

Sorry I missed you. God, it was just like old times. But without all the drama. LOL

Randy put on a hell of a good show it was a good event. It had a fast pace to it what I thought but I was running two classes and didn't have much time to say hi to some people.

I hope the pro mods can come back next year I always enjoy those cars, short wheelbase and lots of power.

This is always good to come home with.
