7.3s are good motors on the farm. They will eat whatever dirty watered down fuel you can find, but for power they are gutless,heavy, rattle boxes. For performance that has to be the worst. I spent a lot of money on 7.3s trying to make decent power. I saved money when I did a cummins swap. Every motor has their place but building a big power 7.3 takes big funds. Guys that have done it spent a lot of money and have some wild trucks but they aren't driving down the road with them
