High everyone. I have to say. These forums are amazing help. I have one question with turbo options that I'm stuck on.

First. Let me tell you about the truck to help out. The truck is a 01 cummins running quadzilla v2 tuning. Revmax signature 47re. 08 super duty rear axle. Fresh new head with #103 springs. Push rods. Ported (no o-ring....). It is 625 studies head. Dps manifold. Pusher intake. Hx40 turbo t4 flange. (for now). 7x11 injectors. 30% over vp44. Three 500cc nozzles water meth at full boost.

A s400 turbo is stronger. But I'm just trying to figure out pros/cons on a s300 charger vs s400 charger on my body truck. Any help will be nice.

Quadzilla. I can tune my own timing. My own fueling. So I may be able to get something to work.

This truck is kinda a daily but more of my play truck on the streets and track for fun. I do want a drivable turbo. But how I am set up right now. I can Hit 1700 get on my daily tune. That's low fuel. Meth off. I'm just trying to get 560-600hp set up. May need compounds. Idk. Just trying to rock a single snail.

S363 for that truck. The S464 is great with a compressor upgrade on a common rail but it isn't going to be all that driveable. It isn't too terrible but I would prefer the S363 if it were my truck between the two.

you will hate a s400 as a single. give a big wheel s300 a try. something like a 63/74/14 gated. plenty of air for over 500 hp. if you plan on compounds go smaller on the turbine wheel. 65mm-71mm. hopefully your manifold is a t3 with a t4 adapter. if its a t4 you wont be able to run a typical gated s300 without an adapter.

Thank you guys. Gonna run non gated turbo. It is a t4 manifold. I have heard a s363 with 68 turbine is great on the street as a daily. I can deal with lag. But nothing crazy. How much better will a 71 turbine flow for exhaust vs the 68? I can deal with a 63 compressor with a 71 turbine ad long as my eggs are better. If I can get 1300-1500 get with no meth. I'll be happy.

And do you think 600hp is even possible with a s363?
I'm curious about a s366 but I am think .91 a/r on these turbos because I am so tired of high egts. I just think s366 will be a over kill on lag. A cam is in the future though. Maybe this winter.

you can drive a 66. but non gated again will not be user friendly at all. a 63 probably wont get you to 600 hp. a 66 on a vp will very much struggle getting there. ide personally never run a 68mm turbine unless its all I had. not trashing it at all but imo run something that builds boost very very fast. 65mm or run something that can make some hp a 71 or 74mm. a 68 is just kinda in the middle. they are readily available and work but you will most likely out grow it. a 62/68 would however compound pretty well.

Driveable and 600hp with a vp is a little bit subjective. For 600hp on a vp that doesn't need gauge babysitting you better look towards compounds.

I'm in between s300 frame single. Or taking my t4 hx40 and compounding it with the 3rd gen on3 performance compound kit. I'm good at fabricating. But they don't show any spec on there turbo other then it's a 77mm and t4 also. I know nothing about it's turbine

Or build a kit that doesn't have to be modified for your truck and utilize a turbocharger that isn't a complete flaming pile of tofu chit?

You can get a t4 .83 gated s300

I'd run a 467.7/83/.90 before I ran a 366/74/.91... if you're going to drive a laggy truck, at least have a turbo worth having lag for.

It's between 363 .91 twin scroll t4. S464 .90 t4. Or home built compounds

I'm just curious why s400 is never used on the vp trucks. I see some but not a lot. What is the main difference in a s363 vs a s464 vs 1mm and stronger shaft?

I'm not set and stone but that's what I have my eyes on. I would like to step up to a 366 or 467. But I kno I need a bigger exhaust housing for my egts. If I go big wheel and big housing. Itle never take off.

I'm still wondering about the 68 turbine vs the 71 or 74. Guessing 74 is gonna glow better?

The 68mm turbine will not make 600hp on a vp without help and you are light in injector for the hp you want.

The turbine wheel design is completely different between the 73/80mm S300 and 74/83mm S400. Depending on the cone angle of your injector, I don't likely see you getting to 600hp no matter what turbo(s) you choose.
