hi just buy a scrap yard 12v, re sealed it , put my old hamilton valve springs and pushrod, my old p7100 215hp. put a silver bullet 62/74/.80 on it, i have buy 5x14 injector but not install yet. go for a road test and boost is like 45-50 and egt trough the roof… so i dont think its the stock injector in the engine. is there any way to know? something on the nozzle? , it run very hot, maybe 370 marine tip? tanks!

Re check valve lash? 16⁰ with marines nozzles is perfect if that's what they are.

have remove one injector and dissasemble it, its the stock 215hp nozzle # 145 p477 ,but thin cooper washer under the injector maybe not spraying into bowl at lower timing like 16, had a small injector haze when cold too!

High boost psi, sounds like low timing to me.

Are you sure it's set to 16°?

What does it do if you free rev it to 4k in neutral.

Does it pop.

Keep the thin washers. Re adjust timing. Tight valve lash wasn't helping.

I’m the exception, but I ran 19* with stock head bolts, never had the head off. The engine had 550K on it when i sold it. For @ 150K miles of that I ran a Sled Puller 66 with a set of DDIII’s and could peg my 60psi boost gauge.

I think plenty of people do this and more on stock bolts. The younger crowd seem to think you need 625ARP’s for anything.

My crusty stock bolts are holding up fine for now. No huge power but it’s a long ways from the 160 it came with. 4 years and 100,000 miles so far.

Pin gauge the nozzle, use piano wire or similar. It wouldn't tell you everything, but it would put you in the ball park. You could probably optically measure the hole with a computer program.
