    Kicking a can

So I have this idea that I pitched to Chris Watson at TS years ago. Road rally build, AWD, high rpm low torque (comparatively) with a tcase and the oil pan is a structural member that houses the front dif. Interestingly, several build have used that idea since I tried to bully Chris into...

    08 F450 6.7 Cummins/Allison swap

Interesting. My DCS mounts have a ton of room around the starter, but I'm running the Chrysler trans adapter

    Truckers, lets see your rigs!

Kinugawa has a spreadsheet you can download that will tell you what that turbo was. The issue is that the 102mm exducer has several inducer sizes depending on what manufacturer and application. The one I have is a GTB45 or 4702 with a 70mm inducer. I know I'm late to the game on this post

if running 1 big or twins (1 per 3 cyl) on the 5.9l, for good driving how big can they/it be and how much HP

Well that settles that. The tried and true 63mm/75mm setup will get it to 800hp and be more streetable. I would guess 64mm over an 85 or 88 would do 1000 with a touch more lag. 67 over 88 would probably be worth considering at well.

    Fmvb 48re line pressure issue.

The line pressure doesn't come back with the spring issue from what I recall. I'm almost certain that's how my pump acted.

    Fmvb 48re line pressure issue.

Spring curves to the piston, somewhere around 200psi it flips toward the clutches, hold them applied and let's the piston overtravel, shooting the seal off the piston. I want to say it's the forward clutch grp but I would have to look. I know it's in my build thread.

    Fmvb 48re line pressure issue.

I had this issue when I didn't torque the bolts on the new pump and cover. I had no idea they got shipped loose. The other thing I did twice in 50k miles was invert the Belleville spring and shoot the seal off the piston. I had to upgrade to a Georend spring.

    08 F450 6.7 Cummins/Allison swap

Look at the gauge of the wires running into and out of the socket. It should be pin 2 and 5 are the control circuit and 1 and 4 are the current handling circuit. The connector should have corresponding 16 gauge wires for the control and 12 or 10 gauge for the load/current handling. Also...

Daily driver 900-1,000 HP Cummins build

I know, that's why I don't think a twin kit will fit. I haven't had a reason to look at those rigs that close though. If it's getting a new frame, maybe it's boxed and reinforced

Daily driver 900-1,000 HP Cummins build

I would be wary of trying to pick a turbo setup until you know what your under hood real estate is going to allow. Twins would be to preferred option, but you may simply not have room. I guess it depends on how much smoke and haze you can tolerate, how much lag and how good your tuner is. Torque...

Daily driver 900-1,000 HP Cummins build

Those are the non-re-entrant bowls so probably a wise move. I'm not sure what all a stage two entails in a cylinder head. I would be tempted to go ahead and get a milled shelf head and just get it over with. I wish I had on mine. I did a port/polish on mine and there is a ton left on the table...

    Turbo Choice

Well, generally speaking, the tighter the turbine housing, the more likely you are to get pass a sniff check. The tradeoff of course is top end power. I'm not sure what works well on the ferdnavi engines but I would think a 64mm inducer compressor would be a good middle of the road for daily...
