What brand of gauges do y'all recommend for a 97 cummins with an auto?

I went to just go race my buddy's 2000 Powerstroke and when we went i would get up to about 35 mph and 3000 rpms and would not shift up until I slightly came off the throttle and wet back on all the way. During normal driving it's fine and shifts great but when I floor it this happens. Any thoughts?
