03 SO piston in a performance application

As it says... 03 SO piston without the oil cooling passages. Anyone use them in a 1000+ hp application? I have a set of pistons, and thought about using them with both types of oil squirters (original and j). I have been told they will work, by someone that is highly respected by me and this forum. I am a little leary though... Truck is a 10 second street and strip truck. It's the 05 in my sig. It will be a spare engine, but could/will end up in the truck.

03 SO uses the same style squirter as the 89-02 engines... any of those engines make the 1000hp mark?

I use them in my puller. I would guess it to be over 1000. Also spin to 5700 at launch

Eric Brown was up over 1300hp IIRC with those pistons and never had a problem with them. He did however have a problem with the crank breaking.

I thought that was done in his 03 truck with a 6.7 swap not a 5.9.
