12v block bore ?

Hello guys I have a project 98 single cab long bed that I cut to a short bed. The truck had lots of blow by but ran good with good power. I tore the engine down and #5 and #6 have a pretty good ridge at the top of the bore. If the bore won't clean up at .020 would shooting for 600hp be a problem if I have to go .040? Thanks for the help.

.020 is a pretty thorough cleanup. post a pic.

if its at TDC where the rings change direction i wouldnt worry. peak cylinder pressure comes a ways down the bore. ive done plenty of engines that still had witness marks up there and had great leakdown numbers despite this "flaw"
