3rd gen manifold on a 2nd gen?

Has anyone put a 3rd gen manifold on a 2nd gen truck?

If the consensus is that putting a 24v manifold on a CR makes the CR sound like a 24v, does it work in reverse?

it does work in reverse.

I'm thinking about putting my stock turbo and manifold on my 98 (after porting the head flange for the 12v)

I think it'll be a much nicer driving turbo than the HX40 that's on it, and I won't have to build a custom downpipe for it
