Long story short truck is a 99 ford f250 with a 97 cummins and 47re from the same truck.
The donor truck had no overdrive before i stuffed it in the ford. Now i have it all in the ford and the truck drives great... except i have no overdrive.
today i decided to wire in a manual switch for overdrive. I bought a 2 prong 20 amp toggle on off from napa. Hooked brown wire that goes to b21 for overdrive solenoid control directly from transmission to the switch. The other prong directly to known good ground.
I still have no overdrive.
Before i drop the pan and start replacing solenoids, is there anything else i need to check for? or does having a manual switch eliminate all of them except bad od solenoid, or bad od unit?
thanks in advance for your help.
