Re these the same dimensions as the older rods? I seem to see a high number of CR rod failures and think im going to replace them before i turn up the wick too much.
 
Search "rods" for lots of discussion on this.

Any of the pre 03 rods (and some early 03's) have better rods than the common rail cracked cap rods. There is some arguement as to which of the earlier rods are better than others, but any will be better than the CR rods.
 
They will work, but you may have to get the rotating assembly rebalanced. With the CR rods being a different material than the older style or even the Crower rods, I'm sure the weight differences will throw the balancing off some.

took 8 grams off my common rail crank, and all of the 12v brazil rods were within a gram.
