6.7 Second Gen.

Just looking for peoples ideas and thoughts.

You wouldn't have to worry about dpf's, egr systems, regen and all that wonderfull crap. Wiring could prove to be a pain though.

brainstorm.

Ya dont have to worry about that **** on the third gens....only way id put one in a second gen is if it had a 13mm p pump on it.

Does deleting the EGR system and DPF negatively affect how the truck runs? I know if it was done in a 3rd gen truck there would be a CEL.

Woodruff and Powerhouse sell Billet P Pump front covers for common rails. As far as a Check engine light,I was just gonna pull the bulb! :)

DPF and EGR delets make the truck run better. The smarty or EDGE will take care of the CELs in those cases, tho with the edge you need the DPF resistor pigtails.

This is from Painless:
The cummins ECM does not have a check engine light driver. The check engine lights on '03+ Dodge trucks are controlled though either a Chrysler Collision Detection Network CCD+/- or a Programable Communications Interface databus depending on the year of the truck.
Since the Second Gens don't have the instrument cluster with that type of communication protocol, you would have to rely on a diagnostic trouble code scanner to recgonize or diagnose any problems with the engine.

can you p-pump a 6.7?

6.7's have been getting p-pumps put on them for a long time now. As far as deleting the egr and dpf, it has a possitive effect on the 6.7's. You will get better performance and better mileage. As far as the codes, get a smarty or h&s, or a emulator and your good to go.
