We just bought a 1066 parts tractor dirt cheap got a real good running reman 130hp 414cu in??? with only a couple hounded hours. Neighbor knows a guy with a pretty decent 856 with a bad engine. Im pretty sure the 856 has a 407 engine. Will a 414 or whatever that came in the 1066 swap into a 856?

The bore size is the same in a 414, 436 or 466. The stroke are 4.75", 5.00" and 5.35" Get proper pistons to go with the longer crank and you should be good to go. These engines use the same length rod. Wrist pin location is different, depending on stroke. The later cranks used a wider bearing. Pay attention to part # of the bearings in the engine that you take the crank out of.

Well anyways back on track. as far as the 414 into the 856, you'll need the back plate off a 666 or similar. And you'll have to take the front mounts and cut an inch off each side. The 856 frame is 2" narrower. The fuel systems are on opposite sides, and you'll have to clearance for your turbo.

856 shares the same bell housing (large) as the 1066. The 666 has the small bell. Goes all the way back to H's and M's. H is small M is large
