09 May 2014 St. Louis, MO - The National Hot Rod Diesel Association is proud to announce that Carlinville Illinois based Area Diesel Service has sponsored the right lane for the 2014 NHRDA Mid West Truckin Nationals. The event will get underway on May 17th, at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison Illinois. The race is the 4th stop of NHRDA's 10th Anniversary Season, part of the NHRDA Championship Series.
ABOUT AREA DIESEL -
In the early 1970's, Val Leefers was a partner in a shop in central Illinois, learning fuel injection and enjoying working on pumps. As the clientele grew, an opportunity presented itself. Val's partner bought him out, and Val built a small building outside of Carlinville, Illinois, acquired $1300 of inventory, and hung out his shingle. Area Diesel Service was born in 1973.
As Area Diesel Service grew, so did the building. The location in Carlinville has been expanded four times over the years to make room for a pump department, turbo department, warehouse, and state-of-the-art machine shop.
In 1984, Area Diesel Service opened a second location outside of Des Moines, Iowa, to better serve our clients west of the Mississippi River. Today, Area Diesel Service has over 35 full-time employees and factory-trained technicians. Through the core values Val Leefers started with -- hard work, dedication to producing a quality product, ongoing development of technical skills and going the extra distance to ensure customer satisfaction
