Suncoast 1800 stall triple disc, 500whp/1000torq VP truck, built 47RE, etc.
Won't hold RPM under full load, rpm instantly climbs over 2600.
Not much drop on a shift either.
Now when towing modest acceleration under 2K results in god awful banging :doh: I thought my trans was FARKED. Then I noticed it didn't do it if locked up. Or over 2K.

So many damn trans parts I thought I was good now but now that we're making more power and putting some miles on (lots of towing 8-9K) and this crap starts happening.
I guess its Jan-Feb, time for my junk to break :doh: :bang
 
See if they will warranty.. If not.
Get with Phil at dpc
 
Should the standard triple be able to hold my merger 500/1000 while towing 8k?
I think it would.
 
Suntoast... You can't go wrong with Phil Taylor of DPC. He is the best on the market.

What kind of line pressure are you making at half throttle and WOT?

Well things are getting progressively WORSE, rattling and clunking now.
Time to swap it before it claims my trans :(
 
-Not the converter, I think I have other issues.
Swapped in another and same issues.
 
I have had very good luck with FTI converters here in Florida! My wife wrecked my 500 hp truck so I took out the good stuff and had him look at the converter to see how it was wearing and he said it looked like new!
 
FWIW - its a decent converter but doesn't really like the torque with a load.
Direct no lockup it instantly flashes to 2900 before the popping / banging started happening.. think its transfer case.
Lockup it pulls like a champ. I just wish I could get more pull non-lockup.
Putting it in our DRW 98.5 , should have no problem with its programmer / exhaust power. At least it doesn't boil the fluid like the current dunrite 1500 stall.
