Long story short I just bought a 91 tdi from a guy and it was originally from canada...he had been driving it with Ontario plates and when they expired he parked it. All I have is a bill of sale. I need to get it titled for the U.s. Cause from my understandings Canadians only have a bill of sale and no title. I just need to know if they are to inspect will it pass u.s emissions, safety, etc etc. Anybody here have experience with importing vehicles from canada?

It will definately pass safety and emisions. Our vehicles are identical to yours. We use the same laws together.

There is nothing saying it will pass safety or emissions in its current state. When it was sold in 91 it would have had to meet more or less the same regulations.

we have titles the same as you, check with your border guys for import regs, often there will be a sticker under the hood or door post that confirms US epa compliance, if not a letter can be had from a dealership
