After last year un-needed snow stuck action I have something to think about.

I was stuck in snow where left side front wheel and right side rear wheel was on air, should the rear LSD diff still lock it or not.

I think it work to forward direction , but not in reverse.

I also use the brakes to lock it , but without luck.

Will the factory limited slip diff work to only forward direction?

A LS power loc( witch is whats in our trucks) will not work if one wheel is in the air! In either direction!

Granted I don't have the most agressive tires my stock LSD in my stock d70 sux in my honest opinion. I had to use 4x4 just to move around in my girlfriend parent's driveway and even 4x4 didn't do so great which is why I plan a locker for the front.

A good trick to help a LS work better is to drain out the lub and replace it with strait gear lub without the additive and the cheapist lub you can find! The additive helps the clutches slip a little so they don't wear as much! I'v put over 130k on my LS without additives in the lub and it locks up good!

my d70 has always locked up good, except when i've had one wheel in the air lol

straight additive with no friction modifier. mine is pretty much a spool when im on the gas.

I may try the gear lube deal. Does it chatter without the modifier?
