Diesel Timing Light options/ Tiny Tach 3300-S (Military Surplus?)

I want to get a timing light to check the timing on my truck because I'm way too lazy to figure out the dial indicator nonsense.

Tiny Tach retails their "3300-S" for $469. This is the only "Diesel timing light" I've ever seen. Does anybody have experience with it or its competitor? I've always heard that it works as advertised at least.

But it seems I can get a "military surplus" light off of eBay for little more than $200. I assume that a first gen Cummins uses a different injection transducer than a 6.5 liter but I happen to have a Tiny Tach transducer kicking around anyways that I was trying to hook to a datalogger about 10 years ago. So I'm contemplating getting one of these.

Bluepoint adapter works great with any normal timing light.

I had the tiny tach unit and it was spot on and super easy to use. Sold it to a buddy of mine as I got rid of my truck.
