Dodge is stuck in third, help please?

96 dodge with auto. Its stuck in third. No lockup. Can get manual second. Have code p0748 for governor pressure sensor.

Tranny is stuck in LIMP mode.
I'd buy and replace the gov. pressure sensor. Also while your in there I'd think about replacing the transducer also

Change both while u are there.. But it will be gov sensor

Where did you get the govoner pressure sensor @?
And did you replace the transducer also?

I've had a lot of sensors right out of the box be junk.
where the colors on the connectors the same?

Also did you clear the codes, if so did the code come right back?

Method of clearing codes;
Clear codes, turn key to on position and see if check engine light is on/off.
If off continue to turn key to run position and start the truck, see how long it takes the code to set.

If the CEL comes on before you turn the key to RUN position then you could be dealing w/ a wiring problem.

Napa sensor and no I did not replace the transducer because I did not no if it's relative to my problem. The connectors were the same color and I cleared the codes using a little code reader

The code does not reset until I put it in gear

I would return the sensor and go through your local dodge/chrysler dealer and order in both sensors.
