Dual disc clutch help please!

Over the weekend I pulled the ZF5 out of my truck, and installed a ZF6.

I was very misinformed by a clutch manufacturer who said that if both were from a 7.3L then I could re use my flywheel.

Luckily for me, the guy I got my adapter plate from also gave me a dual disk clutch. So out came the tranny, in went the dual disk, and everything went back together

This time, the starter touches the ring gear, and the truck starts. Major bonus over the first try. Now The clutch is Very stiff and releases right off the floor.. It is near impossible to shift. And when you do press the clutch, it rattles like crazy!

The clutch came with a modified release bearing.

Is this dual disc just dead maybe? It didn't look amazing.

I will try and post some pics

I'm using a destroked engine plate and crank spacer...

Thanks!
Bob

That clutch don't look horrible. Sounds like it doesn't have enough throw to reach the pressure plate.
looks like a valair clutch to me.

edit: It is possible to put the disks in backward also, possibly the noise you hear.

double edit: it is also possible that the hydraulics for your clutch don't have enough ass the disengage that 3800 lb pressure plate
