EFI Live Question

[6.4 F-350]

A friend of mine baught a 2005 D-max from a dealer and it is always poping a code for the EGR, does EFI live disable the EGR system in this year of truck? I ask this for two reasons I think the truck was tuned before he bought it and the dealer gave him a quote for 1250.00 to replace the EGR valve and I told him it would be better to put the cash into a tuner? Any help would be great Thanks.

You can tune around the egr, for off road racing applications only of course.

I thought so I don't have much D-max experiance, I am guessing the prevoius owner had the egr off and now it isn't cycling properly. Thanks.

There are some lower price options available to turn the codes off and get a nice all around tune. Send in the ecm for tuning on a bench harness, EFI Autocal, etc.
