600hp Cummins Dyno Pull - YouTube
PICS BELOW
Last weekend was hell getting all the new mods completed I arrived at the shop at 6 or so along with 6+ people to "help" only thing they helped me do was drink my beer! Since I was scheduled to dyno on saturday at 2pm I knew I had to get things done, well I ended up working mostly by myself with MANY distractions from 7pm friday till saturday at 2pm!!!

Headstuds were the worst I am never doing those again! Everything went together somewhat smoothly. Only issue we ran into after firing it up was a massive fuel leak on #6 and a rough idle. Turns out the nipple for #6 line was sitting on the rim of the crossover instead of in the middle and puking diesel!

After that she purred like a kitten! One thing ill mention is im sure glad I didnt go any bigger than 200s, they slight haze at idle and haze goin down the highway as well. Robert to say she blows more smoke now is an understatement, im still learning how to drive with it!

The 66/73/.91 T4 is a very laggy setup with my tight auto gears and tires BUT I still have a couple issues to address. The big exhaust leak is caused by the clamps for the flange on the back of the turbo not being lined up anymore since the entire weight of the exhaust is hanging on it... The shop I no longer take my truck to missed the main hanger off the trans. Also found out the harness on the TST is bad and somehow dumping full fuel instead of a progressive curve as my edge cts was only showing "19psi". Also need to check for boost leaks as well and to top it off the charger hasnt loosened up yet and will spool a little better after I get some miles on it. SO many things to address before I see how she actually drives on the street!

NOW for the performance side guys let me tell you it may have some lag but when that sucker lights... oh my lord you better hang on! Its a completely different animal now, A cam, pushrods and springs would be nice in the future and would help quite a bit.

EGTs are kinda scary but keep in mind I have to address those issues stated above. Cruising is 800-1000 but if I hit a hill OD has to come out im 1300 at the top if not. WOT she doesnt really get that hot IIRC maybe 1450 or so BUT cruising down i10 racing a buddy, a 6.4 came to mess with me after which is funny because he was trying to smoke me out... then hung back and did a ricer fly by! what a poon wouldnt even race well as soon as he flew past me and rolled into it and actually caught him! now in that 10 second pull I looked and my EGTs were at 1758*!!!! I almost fainted and eased out of it and let the 6.4 go. Water meth (in moderation) might be in my future for egt purposes.

On the dyno run I made a best of 578/991 now I knew I could hit 575 but was shooting for 600. One thing that blew my mind I did a baseline run with no electronics all motor and made 414/760! I believe that if I get all the above issues taken care of and the TST fuel correctly im positive I can hit it! One thing that may have even hampered my performance was alllll that smoke under the hood was getting sucked right back into the intake... what could I do. The Torque #s on the other hand I didnt quite believe, this was a load cell dyno and he had to back the load of a couple times because the 66 would not spool. Turbo didnt even try till after 2000rpms so not sure I would like to think Im at 1200 ft/lbs of torque? ANYWAY enough rambling heres some goodies! Post up your thoughts! Excuse the dirty truck didnt have time to show n shine for the dyno

Low Torque numbers are partly due to the laggy turbo. Get it to light sooner and they should go up. Is this a box stock turbo?

Thats kinda what I figured and why I need to solve these issues and see if the BW box turbo will spool a little faster!
