ok was working on the truck 96 3500 installing afc kit and govener spings
soooooo i pulled the shut of out of the way .

this is where things went bad i see the boot look likes it is old and falling apart ! no problem right just replace it with a new boot. WRONG :bang
while i was doing other things the boot let go thus sending my spring and shaft out to the ground NO PROBLEM RIGHT wrong i put it all back togeather
and now it does not want to work ! worked fine before ! ???? is the a small part i might have missed that fell out.

put it back on started truck :woohoo: it worked . went to shut it down
and she just kept on running. had to pull the lever down to kill it.
new boot on the way but what else do i look for the darn thing worked before. relay ??

Look for the spring to pull down. It's like a carb return spring that attaches to a small ear down on the pump, then up to the shut down lever.

will do thank you sir !

also on another forum some one told me the boot helps keep the plunger centered in the bore of the shut off so when the new boot comes in that should fix the issue completely.
