how does fuel come up from the injector hold down nut?

i installed some rebuilt injectors today and i am getting fuel squirting up past the dust o ring in the retaining nut. everything i see is that the copper washers that seat in the head leak. but isnt that just for sealing the compression? thanks
 
I say this too much but... it seems that the return line u-washers leak a lot and make it appear that the retaining nut is leaking. Id keep that in mind when youre watching the leak.
 
thank you, then maybe perhaps i have two problems. cause i can see an actual squirt of fuel shooting up past the dust seal in the retaining nut. so maybe its leaking so bad from the return washer and also compression is getting by and pushing that return puddle of fuel
 
kinda what i was thinking shorbus. can they be loosened and re tightened?
 
turns out the performance rebuilt injectors arent sealing. took them to an injector shop near me thats been in the biz for 40 years. none of the sealing surfaces had been addressed, tips, intermediate disk, nut to body. hope to have it running and leak free tomorrow night.
