What's wrong with the filter andfilter head from the factory? If it's the early screw on Canister a 3395 filter from napa is about the lowest micron you'll find.

97-up with the drop-in canister's nominal micron is 2, while the spin-on (3395) is nominal micron of 6.

I'm going to try to custom make nipple for the spin-on (96-down)'s stock filter mount (which have 20x1.5mm thread) to accept CAT's 1R-0750 (1-14 thread) which have absolute micron of 4 If I remember correctly and it's cheaper to buy (why it's difficult to find CAT's filter's specifications?).
