I got a manual lockup switch but pcm still has control over it... how do I totally keep pcm out of it

part of the instructions is to remove trans relay out of fuse box and install jumper..

Have to cut the wire, and ground directly with a switch. I've already got a thread going on this somewhere.

Jumper wire is installed and if you cut the wire it goes into limp mode

You can leave the relay in and prevent codes and limp mode if you install a resistor on the grounded side of the lockup switch. I have a 33 ohm resistor in mine that I got from Radio Shack. #271-1104 @ 5 for a buck but that was about 6 years ago. It locks like OEM when you don't use the switch and my Dunrite VB allows lockup anytime I use the switch in any gear.

I don't want the pcm to have any control over lockup... I want to totally have control... it's a 1996 12v

Wouldn't this be a call for a dual switch system?

Cut the lockup wire controlled by PCM. Put a toggle in place of the cut. That way you can turn lock up off from PCM for the 'daily driving days'. Piggy back a ground to the trans side of that toggle with another toggle directly to ground? That way you can switch lockup when needed?

Im on tapatalk, so I can't see what year his truck is, but on a 47re, you can just cut the wire. Leave the relay in place. No codes, no limp mode. At least not on either of my trucks.

That would work too, as long as the extra wire/switches doesn't change voltage or resistance of signal to pcm (if it even matters, I don't know).
