Lope from a rail pressure gauge?

Ok my buddy just put a rail pressure gauge on his 04 dodge, and we started it up in the garage and the thing is loping and smoking like crazy. The truck is all stock so why would this happen?

Ok, found the problem. We had the plug on backwards.

Just saw this - that was my 1st thought... glad you found it.

Yup, I missed this thread until now, but that would have been my first guess. If you push hard enough you can plug it in backwards, which is why I added the following line on the instructions:
Be sure that the truck harness connector is oriented so that its latch engages the angled block on the Rail Pressure harness connector, not the non-angled block on the other side of the connector.
