Are marine P7100 injection pumps different than what you would find on a dodge 2500/3500? From what I have heard they are governed to sit at a constant speed and not variable speeds like automotive P7100 is this true?

in that case it wouldn't be a good idea to put this on a truck for drag racing?

The previous owner put a marine ppump on the truck in my sig. I plan on dyno'ing it to see how it compares to the stock 180 pump, then going to a race pump.

brnaond.

So a marine pump can run at a variable speed and is not just governed for a constant speed?

Race pump?? How come?
Just send your 180 pump off to get a cam job and P&B put in it. Maybe even a lightened gov. ass.

I don't have the old 180 pump. The previous owner killed it before I purchased it.
