Well my 06 6.7 dually is no more! I was made an offer I couldn't refuse!
So I'm looking for a new 06 Dually 4x4 and going to build another motor!
The 6.7 with 5.9 electronics was Awesome. The pure grunt of towing heavy was amazing.
So my question is 6.7 or 6.4 I'm doing Carrillo rods either way so same cost.
The 5.9 revved great the 6.7 slightly less so would a 6.4 be the best of both worlds?
Would love to hear from those that ran all three and their impressions.
I've ran two out of three and love the 6.7. Truck was built to tow heavy.
Hard part Suggestions appreciated!

4.88 stroke. I don't understand everyone want to lose the stroke on these low RPM work and street trucks.

The longer stroke gives too much rod angle and puts a lot more stress on the rod compared to a 5.9. I guess it depends on how much power the owner wants to make. If you're spending the money on rods anyways and it's a street truck then I'd prefer the torque of the longer stroke too and maybe not put a quick spooling setup on it to keep cylinder pressures down. A little give and take.

The 6.4 might be better for a race truck, but for towing, I'd want that displacement. Low end torque, and spools a large turbo pretty quick.
