New fire ring kit or not??

Is it true if you take the head off you have to get a new fire ring kit, or is that false info?? :thankyou2:

If your head is fire ringed now and you take it off, yes you need a new gask. and rings.

The rings are not bad at 8-9 dollars apiece. The cut gasket is whats expensive. From Schied the set is $190. Tim

if the head hasn't been off before... you'll need to deck it before reinstalling. If you don't have rings, you can also get them cut into head when it's off

The head was deck and groves cut last winter. wanted to take the head off and was wondering if i would need a new kit. Thanks
