nv4500 swap in '98 12v

My buddy and i swapped his auto tranny for an NV4500 and upon finishing up the truck wouldnt start... it fires right up if you jump the terminals on the starter! Anybody have any ideas what could be happening???
 
We put a jumper wire in for the clutch pedal portion... however havent done anything with the plug in on top of the tranny
 
He's talking about the connector for the Neutral Safety Switch that was in the auto. If you just unplugged it and that's it, the PCM thinks it's in gear and won't allow it to start.
 
Just finished mine there's a three wire plug two wires go together and the other needs to be grounded or pick up a neutral safety switch and connect to that and still ground that wire
